Headquarters of YMCA in the Czech Republic
The Czech YMCA owns the YMCA Palace Na Poříčí 12, near the Republic Square in the Prague center. The building is a valuable work of modern classicism from the 1920s and one of the main works of the architect Eduard Hnilička. It is part of the Prague Conservation Area, which has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1992.
Currently, most of the building is rented and the proceeds are used for other activities of Czech YMCA. There is a sportscentre in the building (providing comprehensive services including a swimming pool, a modern fitness center, a running track and a gym - more information is available at www.scymca.cz)
